Passenger Killed in Police Chase Crash at Myrtle and Watt Avenues [North Highlands, CA]
One Dead, Several Hurt Following Police Pursuit Collision in North Highlands
NORTH HIGHLANDS, CA (October 29, 2020)—A police pursuit Wednesday night turned fatal when several cars collided at Myrtle and Watt avenues.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a chase ensued when officers tried making a traffic stop on an Audi driver. However, the incident escalated into a police chase as the Audi fled from officers before crashing into two other cars around 1:20 a.m.
Due to the impact, the Audi flew about 100 yards, ejecting its passenger and driver from the cabin.
Unfortunately, the passenger died at the scene and the driver sustained severe injuries. Meanwhile, the two people in the other cars sustained only minor injuries.
At this time, the crash remains under investigation and anyone with information should contact police officers.
