Bremerton Firefighter Injured While Responding to Crash on Washington Avenue [Bremerton, WA]
Patrol Car Pins Firefighter in Accident on Washington Avenue near 11th Street in Bremerton
BREMERTON, WA (October 24, 2020) – A Bremerton firefighter suffered injuries while responding to a crash on Washington Avenue on early Saturday.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened near 11th Street around 2:00 AM.
Based on a report, the 50-year-old victim responded to a crash after a vehicle had hit a parked car. While firefighters were helping the driver, one of the cars went into reverse, pinning a firefighter between the driver’s vehicle and an officer’s patrol car.
As a result, the victim suffered compound fractures to his legs. Crews transported him to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle where he underwent surgery.
