Rodrigo Cruz Arrested, Bicyclist and Passenger Dead in Accident on Hollywood Boulevard [Las Vegas, NV]
Rodrigo Cruz Detained in Fatal South Hollywood Boulevard Crash Near East Sahara Avenue
LAS VEGAS, NV (October 27, 2020) — Two people died, including a bicyclist, Sunday morning following an accident on South Hollywood Boulevard near East Sahara Avenue.
According to reports, the deadly event happened around 7:00 a.m. when several cars were driving recklessly along South Hollywood Boulevard.
A witness informed an investigator that a passenger in a minivan, hanging out of the vehicle, tried striking people on the sidewalk. During this senseless act, the minivan missed two pedestrians but struck a middle-aged woman riding her bicycle down the road.
Per reports, the passenger hanging from the minivan pushed the victim to the ground. However, the passenger fell out of a moving car and struck a light pole.
As a result of the accident, both the female bicyclist and the passenger died at the scene.
The following day, police arrested 22-year-old Rodrigo Cruz, who reportedly fled the scene before officers arrived. They booked him into the Clark County Detention Center on multiple charges including open murder and duty to stop at the scene of an accident.
