Two Vehicles Involved in Head-On Crash on Highway 255 in Humboldt County
HUMBOLDT COUNTY, CA (October 19, 2020) – Emergency crews sent at least four people to the hospital following a head-on crash on Highway 255 on Monday afternoon.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened between the bridges, adjacent to Indian Island at around 4:05 PM.
Based on a report, a black pickup truck and a silver SUV crashed head-on. Subsequently, responders found the pickup truck blocking both lanes of traffic and the SUV had gone off the roadway and into some brush. However, Humboldt Bay Fire did not yet release the circumstances that led to the crash.
As a result, four people suffered injuries. Crews transported the victims to the hospital for treatment. Three victims had moderate injuries while one victim suffered major injuries.
No other details are immediately available. This time, an investigation is ongoing.
