Joel Edwards Killed in Motorcycle Crash on Geiger Grade Road [Reno, NV]
One Killed, Two Injured in Vehicle and Motorcycle Crash on Geiger Grade Road in Reno
RENO, NV (October 16, 2020) – Police identified 74-year-old Joel Edwards as the victim who died in a motorcycle crash in the 1145 block of Geiger Grade Road on Friday evening.
According to the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office, the collision happened near the 7-Eleven store.
Based on a report, the victim’s black 2006 Harley-Davidson motorcycle was traveling west on Geiger Grade prior to the crash. At the same time, a Washoe County Sheriff’s SUV was driving east, approaching the 7-Eleven. When the Tahoe made a left turn into the 7-Eleven in front of the motorcycle, a collision occurred.
As a result, the Washoe County Medical Examiner’s Office said Edwards of Sparks died on the scene. In addition, crews transported two deputies in the SUV to the hospital for treatment.
The Nevada Highway Patrol is investigating the case. However, officials don’t have additional information to share.
