Crystal Johnston, 9-Year-Old Eva Johnston, 9-Year-Old Finn Johnston, Eldon Matteer Hospitalized after Multi-Vehicle Crash on Lewis River Road [Woodland, WA]
Three Vehicles Involved in Crash on Lewis River Road in Woodland
WOODLAND, WA (October 16, 2020) – Emergency crews transported Crystal Johnston and three others to the hospital after a multi-vehicle crash on Lewis River Road on Friday afternoon.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened near Milepost 47 at Reno Cut Off Road around 02:45 PM.
Based on a report, a 2004 Honda Element stopped in the lanes while a 1994 Toyota pickup was waiting to turn left onto Reno Cut Off. Due to an unknown reason, a 2017 Ram pickup crashed into the rear of the Honda. Consequently, the impact pushed the Honda into the Toyota, causing it to roll on its side.
As a result, crews transported the Honda driver, Crystal K. Johnston, 39, of Ariel, and her passenger, 9-year-old Eva Johnston to Legacy Emanuel Medical Center. In addition, crews used LifeFlight to send Johnston’s second passenger in the vehicle, 9-year-old Finn Johnston, to Randall Children’s Hospital. They also transported the Toyota driver, Eldon Matteer to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center.
Later on, officers cited the pickup driver, Zachary J. Ramey, 31, of Woodland with second-degree negligent driving. However, an investigation is ongoing.
Manage your speed and slow down in areas near intersections. In addition, these are the best ways to avoid getting into a multi-car accident. However, avoid distracted driving and tailgating to prevent getting into a multi-car crash.
