At Least 4 Hurt After Driver Crashes Into Seattle Restaurant
SEATTLE, WA (October 23, 2020)—At least four people required hospital care after a driver crashed into a dim sum restaurant at South Jackson Street and Maynard Avenue South Thursday afternoon.
According to officers, a driver of a Toyota Camry accelerated backward into the entrance of Dim Sum King.
Soon after the 2 p.m. accident had occurred, the Seattle Fire Department responded and transported four people to a hospital. Of the four patients, three of them were women with minor injuries and the fourth—a man who’d been pinned behind the car.
After freeing him, paramedics transported him to Harborview Medical Center in stable condition
Additionally, two others brought themselves to Harborview Medical Center and the seventh person did not require any hospital care.
At this time, it’s unclear whether the Toyota driver suffered any injuries; however, investigators believe that he or she tried to park the car on South Jackson Street when the Camry traveled over the sidewalk and into the front of the business, which fortunately did not sustain any structural damage.
