Zoraida Rios Killed in Fiery Rollover Crash on Highway 95 [Winnemucca, NV]
Vehicle Overturned in Fatal Accident on Highway 95 in Winnemucca
WINNEMUCCA, NV (August 5, 2020) – Police identified Zoraida Rios as the victim who died in a fiery rollover crash on Highway 95 on early Wednesday morning.
According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, the incident happened around 1:38 AM.
Based on a report, the Winnemucca resident was driving north on the highway prior to the accident. At the same time, a black-and-silver Dodge Ram 1500 on the same lane crossed over the centerline. Consequently, its left front hit the left front of the KIA. As a result, the Dodge overturned and rolled over the KIA. It then came to a rest on its roof and a fire started.
Emergency crews pronounced Zoraida Rios, 37, of Winnemucca, dead on the scene. The driver of the Dodge, a juvenile who was not wearing a seatbelt, was taken to Humboldt General Hospital in an unknown condition.
The incident blocked traffic in both directions.
At this time, it is still unknown if impairment was a factor in the crash. However, an investigation is ongoing.
