Woman Dies in Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Accident on East San Ysidro Boulevard in San Diego
SAN DIEGO, CA (October 16, 2020) — A pedestrian died Thursday morning after a hit-and-run vehicle struck her on the East San Ysidro Boulevard off-ramp at the 805 Freeway.
According to the San Diego Police, the fatal incident happened around 1:00 a.m.
Investigators surmise that the female pedestrian was walking westbound in a crosswalk at East San Ysidro Boulevard when the incident happened.
Per reports, a gold SUV traveling down the off-ramp from the northbound freeway struck the pedestrian, who had been crossing against a red traffic signal at the time.
Subsequently, the SUV, which exited on a green traffic light, knocked the woman to the ground before making a left turn onto East San Ysidro Boulevard.
At this time, the driver’s whereabouts are unknown and the victim, described as a female in her 40s, did not survive her injuries.
