Man Killed in Motorcycle Crash on Hawthorne Boulevard [Torrance, CA]
SUV Involved in Motorcycle Crash on Hawthorne Boulevard near Lomita Boulevard in Torrance
TORRANCE, CA (October 12, 2020) – Police are working to identify the man who died in a motorcycle crash on Hawthorne Boulevard on Monday afternoon.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near Lomita Boulevard at about 3:20 PM.
Based on a report, the 44-year-old motorcyclist was traveling northbound on Hawthorne when the crash happened. Due to an unknown reason, the driver of a southbound Ford Escape made a left turn and caused the collision.
Subsequently, emergency crews tried to perform life-saving efforts at the scene. However, the victim died of his injuries. Officials did not yet release his identity.
The 56-year-old driver of the Ford Escape stayed on the scene. Upon assessment, investigators do not believe she was under the influence of drugs or alcohol. The Torrance Police Department is still investigating the case. However, they don’t have additional information to share.
