Woman Killed in Bicycle Crash on James Donlon Boulevard [Antioch, CA]
Bicyclist Struck and Killed by Vehicle on James Donlon Boulevard near G Street in Antioch
ANTIOCH, CA (October 12, 2020) – Police confirmed that a woman died in a bicycle crash on James Donlon Boulevard on Monday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near G Street at approximately 8:21 AM.
Based on a report, the 57-year-old Antioch resident collided with a vehicle. First responders found her non-responsive and suffering major head injuries.
They immediately transported her by helicopter to an area trauma center. Later on, she succumbed to her injuries. Officials did not yet release her identity, pending kin notification.
The driver of the involved vehicle remained on the scene. At this point, the Antioch Police Department Traffic Unit responded and took over the investigation. In addition, officers said drugs and alcohol do not appear to be a factor in this collision. However, they ask anyone with information to call the Antioch Police Department’s non-emergency line at (925)778-2441.
