8 Injured After Driver Strikes Diners on Story Road at McLaughlin Avenue [San Jose, CA]
Driver Hit, Injures Diners Outside of San Jose Restaurant on Story Road at McLaughlin Avenue
SAN JOSE, CA (October 13, 2020) — Two critically injured women were among eight people hospitalized Sunday after a driver crashed into a crowd of diners along Story Road near McLaughlin Avenue.
According to San Jose police Sgt. Christian Camarillo, it seems through investigations and interviews with witnesses that the driver might have had undergone a medical emergency and pressed on the accelerator instead of the brakes.
As a result, eight people required hospital care, including two women in critical condition.
Also among the patients, the 69-year-old man operating the SUV stayed at the scene, located at Grand Century Shopping Mall.
At this time, the case remains under investigation yet anyone with information should contact local authorities.
