Mark Thompson Hurt, DUI Driver Involved in Twain Harte Motorcycle Crash

 
TWAIN HARTE, CA (October 10, 2020) – Police identified Mark Edward Thompson as the rider who sustained major injuries in a motorcycle crash on Twain Harte Drive on Saturday evening.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near Joaquin Gully Road just before 8:30 PM.
 
Based on a report, the 40-year-old rider from Livermore was riding a Harley Davidson motorcycle on the westbound lane prior to the crash. At the same time, 39-year-old Kelly Ryan Quashnick of Tuolumne was traveling in the opposite direction in a Ford pickup truck.
 
Due to an unknown reason, Quashnick slowed his vehicle and began making a left turn directly in front of Thompson. As a result, the victim’s motorcycle collided with the left side of the pickup, ejecting him from the bike. After the impact, the motorcycle then crashed into a parked pickup.
 
As a result, Thompson suffered major injuries. Emergency crews airlifted him to a Modesto hospital for treatment. However, Quashnick was not hurt in the collision.
 
After further investigation, police arrested Thompson for drunk driving.
