Pedestrian Hit, Killed by DUI Driver on South Jackson Avenue Near Bambi Lane [San Jose, CA]
DUI Pedestrian Accident Turns Fatal in San Jose
SAN JOSE, CA (October 12, 2020) — A pedestrian died Friday evening after being hit by a DUI driver on South Jackson Avenue near Bambi Lane.
According to San Jose police, the crash took place in the 800 block of South Jackson Avenue around 8:55 p.m.
Authorities determined that a driver of a gold 2004 Saturn L300 struck the pedestrian as it drove northbound on Jackson Avenue. Reports noted that the pedestrian was crossing the street in the northbound lanes, yet outside of a marked crosswalk.
Shortly after, paramedics responded and ushered the victim to a nearby hospital where he died. Per news reports, the driver of the vehicle dodged injury but now faces DUI charges.
Officers booked him into Santa Clara County jail for driving under the influence of alcohol.
As of late, the identity of the fatal victim has yet to be released pending family notification.
