DUI Driver Arrested After Hit-and-Run Bicycle Accident on Los Osos Road in San Luis Obispo
SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA (October 6, 2020) – A bicyclist suffered injuries in a hit-and-run accident on Los Osos Road on Tuesday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at approximately 11:00 AM.
Based on a report, the victim was riding his bike prior to the crash. At the same time, a vehicle was heading east on Los Osos Road. Due to an unknown reason, the vehicle veered into the bike lane and sideswiped the bike rider. Subsequently, the vehicle driver drove away from the scene.
As a result, the biker suffered a severe left leg fracture. Emergency crews transported the victim to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center.
Afterward, police apprehended the driver at the scene of another traffic collision, in the area of Santa Rosa Street and Highland Drive. They took him into custody for the hit and run and for driving under the influence of drugs.
