Rosa Olivera Injured, Randy Avila Sought in Deadly Hit-and-Run Accident at Bloss Avenue [Delhi, CA]

Rosa Olivera Hospitalized, Randy Avila Sought Following Fatal Hit-and-Run Two-Car Crash at Bloss Avenue Near Palm Street

 
DELHI, CA (October 9, 2020) — A 43-year-old woman died following Thursday’s hit-and-run two-vehicle crash at Bloss Avenue near Palm Street.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal incident took place around 8:40 a.m.
 
Crews responded to a two-car collision, which beckoned emergency responders to the scene to free a passenger from a 2016 Nissan Sentra.
 
After extricating the victim, paramedics brought her to Emmanuel Medical Center in Turlock, where she died. At this time, her name and residence have yet to be released.
 
The crash not only claimed one life but left 66-year-old Rosa Olivera with moderate injuries.
 
Reports say she was taken to Memorial Medical Center in Modesto by air ambulance.
 
Meanwhile, authorities investigated the area to determine that the driver of the Nissan Sentra had fled on foot, leaving them searching for his whereabouts.
 
Per investigations, 40-year-old Randy Avila of Delhi was driving southbound on Palm Street and had failed to stop at a stop sign. In failing to do so, the Nissan’s passenger side was struck by Olivera’s vehicle.
 
Authorities learned that Olivera was not under the influence at the time; however, the case remains open.
