Kelly Lynch Under Arrest Following Deadly Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Accident
SAN PABLO, CA (October 8, 2020) — An 88-year-old woman died following Monday’s hit-and-run pedestrian accident at San Pablo Avenue and 23rd Street.
Around 5:16 a.m., police officers responded to a call about a hit-and-run report. Upon arriving at the intersection, officers found the 88-year-old woman, a San Pablo resident, with grave injuries.
First Responders arrived soon after and performed life-saving attempts. However, efforts came short as the unidentified victim died at the scene.
Fortunately, detectives investigating the accident had gathered evidence used from public safety cameras to identify that a 1991 Ford pickup truck had struck the woman.
Within hours of the investigation, police arrived at a residence on the 1200 block of Belfair Drive in Pinole to arrest 64-year old Kelly Lynch around 11:15 a.m.
At this time, detectives have not yet ruled out impairment as a possible source of the crash.
