RICHLAND, WA (October 2, 2020) – A man suffered serious injuries in a pedestrian accident on Columbia Center Boulevard on Friday afternoon.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the accident happened at the Highway 240 on-ramp around 2:20 PM.
Based on a report, the male victim was crossing Columbia Center Boulevard on foot when the crash occurred. Due to unknown reasons, a northbound car struck him. Police said the pedestrian was jaywalking at that time.
As a result, he suffered life-threatening injuries. Emergency crews rushed him to Kadlec Regional Medical Center for treatment. Police did not provide any descriptive information about him.
The driver of the car remained at the scene was cooperative. Upon assessment, the police did not believe drugs or alcohol played a factor in the accident. However, they continue to investigate the case.
