Red-Light Runner Causes Crash on Slater Avenue near Magnolia Street in Fountain Valley
FOUNTAIN VALLEY, CA (October 4, 2020) – A police officer suffered injuries in a red-light crash on Slater Avenue on early Sunday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened near Magnolia Street at about 3:02 AM.
Based on a report, the victim was on his way to assist another officer with a traffic stop prior to the crash. At that time, a white 2017 Nissan Pathfinder ran a red light and crashed into his patrol vehicle.
As a result, the officer sustained minor injuries. It was not yet known if the 37-year-old Buena Park resident driving the SUV was hurt in the incident.
The Fountain Valley Police Department is still investigating the case. At this point, officers don’t have additional details to share.
