Motorcyclist Severely Injured in Hit-and-Run Crash Near Golf Links Road and Hearthstone Drive [Tucson, AZ]
Person Severely Hurt in Hit-and-Run Motorcycle Accident in Tucson
TUCSON, AZ (October 5, 2020) — A person sustained life-threatening injuries following Friday’s hit-and-run motorcycle crash near Golf Links Road and Hearthstone Drive.
According to reports, the accident happened around 8:00 p.m. when a driver had attempted a left-hand turn in front of a motorcycle. During this maneuver, both vehicles collided, causing significant injuries to the motorcycle rider.
Soon after colliding, the driver left the scene. A witness immediately followed the suspect. However, they subsequently lost sight of the driver.
However, with the help of K-9 and air support, officers became successful in locating and arresting the driver, who they say had been under the influence at the time.
Officers booked the driver into Pima County Jail on multiple felony charges.
Being under the influence makes you more susceptible to car accidents. If you have been drinking, then look to other methods of transportation. Contact a trusted friend or a family member to bring you home. Because alcohol and drugs can slow your response rate and affect your judgment, drinking and driving is always discouraged.
