Hit-and-Run Driver Sought after Fatal Pedestrian Accident on Orville Road East [Orting, WA]
Male Pedestrian Killed in Hit-and-Run on Orville Road East in Orting
ORTING, WA (September 26, 2020) – Authorities are now looking for a hit-and-run driver after a fatal pedestrian accident in the 28200 block of Orville Road East on Saturday night.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the accident happened at about 10:40 PM.
Based on a report, the male pedestrian was walking along the road prior to the accident. Due to unknown circumstances, a vehicle came and struck him. Subsequently, the driver left the scene.
Deputies and medics arrived and pronounced the 34-year-old man dead at the scene. Investigators believed the man had just left a birthday party at a home before the fatal incident. They did not yet release his name pending kin notification.
Officers from the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department are still investigating the case. Right now, they are asking anyone who lives along the south end of Orting Road from Kaposwin to 264th Street East to please check any security cameras for images of the victim or suspicious vehicles from between 10:00 p.m. and 10:40 p.m. Saturday night and give them a call if you spot anything.
