Issac Ishak Fatally Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver on Mitchell Road Near East Whitmore Avenue

 
CERES, CA (October 1, 2020) — A pedestrian died Tuesday after being struck by a hit-and-run driver on Mitchell Road near East Whitmore Avenue.
 
Units arrived at the scene around 7:14 p.m. to find a man lying in the northbound lane of Mitchell Road.
 
Police say that the driver of the dark van left the scene after striking and killing Isaac Ishak.
 
Officers say the vehicle might have been northbound on Mitchell Road at an unknown speed. After that, it drove into the two-lane center turning lane. As it began passing vehicles stopped for the red traffic light at East Whitmore Avenue, the driver struck Ishak as he walked into the car’s path.
 
According to witnesses, the driver stopped and got out. However, the suspect fled the scene after seeing what he had struck.
