Man Killed in Rollover Crash on Dale Evans Parkway [Apple Valley, CA]
Red-Light Incident Leads to Fatal Crash on Dale Evans Parkway in Apple Valley
APPLE VALLEY, CA (September 28, 2020) – Police confirmed that one person died in a rollover crash on Dale Evans Parkway on Monday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at the intersection of Stoddard Wells Road around 5:30 AM.
Based on a report, a 46-year-old male from Bell Gardens was driving a white 2015 GMC Sierra pickup truck when he failed to yield to traffic. Subsequently, he entered the intersection, causing a collision with an orange 2020 Dodge Challenger. Consequently, the GMC truck rolled over.
As a result, a 36-year-old resident of Apple Valley who was driving the Dodge died at a local hospital. Officials did not yet release his name pending kin notification. Officials said the driver of the GMC truck suffered minor injuries. Crews transported him to St Mary Medical Center for treatment.
The Dodge Challenger sustained major front-end damage.
At this point, an investigation into the case is still ongoing.
