Woman Dies in Big Rig Crash on 5 Freeway [Granada Hills, CA]
Big Rig and Several Cars Involved Fatal Crash on 5 Freeway at Roxford Street in Granada Hills
GRANADA HILLS, CA (September 29, 2020) – Police are trying to identify a woman who died in a crash involving a big rig on southbound 5 Freeway on Tuesday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near Roxford Street at approximately 8:00 AM.
Based on a report, the victim was in a blue sedan at the time of the crash. The sedan collided with a 7Up big rig, a trash truck and, a Homeland Security vehicle. However, officials did not release the details that led to the pile-up.
As a result, the woman in the sedan died on the scene. Officers did not release her name pending kin notification. In addition, federal agents in the government vehicle suffered moderate injuries.
The white SUV belonging to Homeland Security sustained damage to its left front tire and hood.
No other details are available. At this time, officials continue to investigate the case.
