Ashot Mesropyan Killed in Car Crash on 5 Freeway [Castaic, CA]

Fatal Accident on 5 Freeway near Lake Hughes Road in Castaic

 
CASTAIC, CA (September 23, 2020) – Police identified 64-year-old Ashot Mesropyan as the victim who died in a car crash on southbound 5 Freeway on Wednesday afternoon.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened just north of Lake Hughes Road around 2:51 PM.
 
Based on a report, Mesropyan’s white sedan plunged 400-feet off the side of the freeway. However, officials from the Los Angeles County Police Department did not yet release the details that led to the crash. In addition, there were no other vehicles in the scene.
 
The L.A. County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office said Mesropyan, the sole occupant of the car, died at the scene.
 
Police did not release more information regarding the crash. However, an investigation into the case is ongoing.
