Child Dies in Churchill County Pedestrian Accident
CHURCHILL COUNTY, NV (September 29, 2020)—A boy died Friday after being struck by a driver at Tumbleweed Road and Rice Road.
According to officials, the Churchill County Middle School student died from the injuries that he received when a vehicle struck him at the intersection.
The call came around noon when deputies received a call about an incident that took place at Tumbleweed and Rice roads.
A preliminary investigation shows that the driver of the teal GMC veered into the eastbound lanes after heading west. For unknown reasons the car traveled onto to shoulder and hit the boy, who’d been waiting for the school bus.
However, at this time, the major causes of the accident require more investigation. If anyone has insight into this fatal event, please contact the Nevada Highway Patrol and their Major Accident Investigations Team.
