One Injured in Motorcycle Crash on North Melrose Drive [Vista, CA]
Motorcycle Rider Struck and Injured by Hit-and-Run Driver on North Melrose Drive in Vista
VISTA, CA (September 28, 2020) – One person suffered injuries in a motorcycle crash in the 400 block of North Melrose Drive on Monday afternoon.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened just after 5:00 PM.
Based on a report, a U-Haul van was coming out of a 76 gas station when it struck the victim who was going westbound. Subsequently, the motorcycle hit another vehicle. Afterward, the U-Haul driver immediately fled the scene northbound.
As a result, the San Diego County Sheriff’s Vista Station said the motorcyclist sustained injuries. In addition, officers said that the victim’s condition was not life-threatening because he was wearing motorcycle protective gear at the time of the crash.
Officials are asking anyone with information about the incident to call the Sheriff’s Department at 760-940-4551 or San Diego County Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477.
The crash remained under investigation by the police. At this point, officials don’t have additional information to share.
