17-Year-Old Driver Critical after DUI Crash on North River Road in Oceanside
OCEANSIDE, CA (September 25, 2020) – Police arrested Jose Orozco after a DUI crash on North River Road on Friday night.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened around 9:30 PM.
Based on a report, Orozco was driving a Ford F150 when he crossed into the opposite lane. Subsequently, he struck a Toyota 4Runner driven by a 17-year-old driver. Consequently, the impact ejected the Toyota driver from the vehicle. The Ford truck ran off the road and into a dirt field.
As a result, emergency crews said the teen driver suffered a severe head injury in the incident. They transported him to the hospital in critical condition.
Police arrested Orozco, 33, of Vista, for suspected felony driving under the influence with injury. However, police continue to investigate the case.
