Bicyclist Critically Hurt in Hit-and-Run Crash on St. Louis Avenue [Long Beach, CA]
Driver Strikes, Injures Bicyclist in Long Beach Hit-and-Run Crash on St. Louis Avenue
LONG BEACH, CA (September 28, 2020) — A bicyclist was critically injured Sunday morning following a hit-and-run crash on St. Louis Avenue near East Anaheim Street.
According to statements, Long Beach police officers arrived at the scene around 11:50 a.m. Upon arriving, they found a man with injuries to his upper body and witnesses trying to help him.
Not long after, paramedics ushered him to a nearby hospital for treatment. At this time, updates about his injuries have yet to be confirmed.
In the investigation, officers determined that the bicyclist was riding his bike southbound on St. Louis Avenue when a dark-colored vehicle struck him from behind.
Unfortunately, the driver of the car did not stop to help and fled the scene immediately after.
