One Killed, One Injured in Suspected DUI Crash on Highway 14 [Acton, CA]
One Dead in Solo-Car Accident on Highway 14 near Mountain Spring Road in Acton
ACTON, CA (September 20, 2020) – Police confirmed that one person died in a suspected DUI crash on Highway 14 on Sunday night.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened just south of Mountain Spring Road.
Based on a report, a vehicle veered off the freeway. Subsequently, it fell down the embankment and collided with a fence. As a result, the impact ejected the driver from the vehicle.
Emergency crews pronounced the victim dead at the scene. Officials did not yet release the victim’s identity pending kin notification. In addition, a passenger in the vehicle sustained major injuries. Crews transported the victim to Antelope Valley Hospital.
Police suspected alcohol and/or drugs to be a factor in this collision. However, an investigation into the case is ongoing.
