Two Killed in Two-Vehicle Crash on Highway 40 [Seligman, AZ]
Tire Failure Leads to Fatal Crash on Highway 40 in Seligman
SELIGMAN, AZ (September 16, 2020) – Police confirmed that two people died in a two-vehicle crash on westbound Highway 40 on late Wednesday night.
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, a vehicle was traveling west on the highway when it had a tire failure. Subsequently, it crossed the center median and collided with an eastbound vehicle.
Based on a report, two people in the second vehicle died at the scene. Officials did not yet release the identities of the victims pending communication with their families. In addition, medics transported the driver of the first vehicle for treatment of unspecified injuries.
Roadway evidence shows that tire failure caused the fatal accident. At this time, an investigation remains ongoing.
