Kyle Davis Dies in Highway 92 Motorcycle Accident [Foster City, CA]
Kyle Davis Killed After Colliding With Disabled Car on Highway 92 Near Highway 101
FOSTER CITY, CA (September 22, 2020) — A 34-year-old man died Sunday after his motorcycle crashed into a disabled vehicle on Highway 92 near Highway 101.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a driver purportedly left his disabled BMW in the slow lane of westbound Highway 92 on the high-rise section of the bridge.
Around 10:00 a.m., a group of motorcyclists approached the abandoned car. While most of the riders had switched lanes to travel around the disabled vehicle, two of them had not and collided with the rear of the car.
One motorcyclist slammed into the BMW and was thrown off the bridge into the San Francisco Bay. According to reports, the U.S. Coast Guard recovered his body later, and the San Mateo County coroner’s office identified him as Kyle Davis of Sacramento.
Meanwhile, the driver and passenger of the second motorcycle that hit the BMW sustained major injuries. Paramedics shuttled them to Stanford Medical Center for immediate treatment.
At this time, whether drugs or alcohol had played a factor in the collision remains unclear, but witnesses should contact CHP Officer David Tran at (650) 369-6261 to help with the investigation.
