Vehicle Crashes into House in Fatal DUI Accident on Colony Drive in Pomona
POMONA, CA (September 17, 2020) – Police identified Yolanda Bozonier as the victim who died in a DUI accident in the 1100 block of Colony Drive on Thursday night.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened near South Hamilton Boulevard at approximately 9:15 PM.
Based on a report, the victim was likely to get ready for bed at the time of the collision. At the same time, a suspected drunken driver in a Chrysler PT Cruiser traveling at a high rate of speed lost control of the vehicle. As a result, it slammed into the victim’s house. Consequently, the car crashed through the wall and pinned the woman down.
Officials from the Pomona Police Department said the 59-year-old woman died at the scene. Her adult daughter was giving her daughter a bath at the time. They were not hurt in the incident.
Police booked the car driver, Carmelino Martinezordonez, 33, of Pomona, on suspicion of
felony DUI and vehicular manslaughter.
