Roy Woo Killed in Car Crash on Skyline Boulevard [Oakland, CA]
One Killed, One Injured in Car Accident on Skyline Boulevard near Redwood Road in Oakland
OAKLAND, CA (September 17, 2020) – Police identified Roy Woo as the victim who died in a car crash in the 11700 block of Skyline Boulevard on Thursday night.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened near Redwood Road at approximately 10:11 PM.
Based on a report, the 42-year-old man was a passenger in a 2020 BMW M340i that was going eastbound on Skyline. Due to an unknown reason, the car left the roadway and collided into a dirt embankment. Consequently, it crashed into some trees along Skyline.
Emergency crews said Woo died at the scene. In addition, the 39-year-old Oakland man who was driving the car suffered injuries. Police said the two men were friends.
Police have not determined yet if speed, or alcohol or drugs were in factor in the crash. However, the case remains under investigation. This time, police are asking anyone with information to call traffic investigators at 510-777-8570.
