Motorcycle Rider Down in Hit-and-Run on 5 Freeway [Newhall, CA]
Hit-and-Run Motorcycle Crash on 5 Freeway near Highway 14 in Newhall
NEWHALL, CA (September 18, 2020) – Emergency crews rescued a motorcycle rider after a hit-and-run on northbound 5 Freeway on Friday afternoon.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened just north of Highway 14 at approximately 3:48 PM.
Based on a report, first responders found the rider down in the lanes. In addition, the victim’s motorcycle blocked the middle lanes of the freeway. Officers said the victim collided with a vehicle that fled the scene after the incident.
Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel transported the rider to the hospital. At this point, the victim’s condition is still unknown.
As a result, the incident led to a temporary closure of freeway lanes. There was no immediate information regarding the hit-and-run vehicle. However, police continued to investigate the case.
