Treyvon Breckenridge, Kaya Durazo and Ayana Guardado Die in Crash With Tree
TRACEY, CA (September 21, 2020) — Four people died Friday night after their vehicle crashed into a tree at the 205 Freeway on-ramp and Tracy Boulevard.
According to the California Highway Patrol, an officer heading southbound on the 5 Freeway tried pulling over a vehicle around 7:00 p.m. However, the driver failed to comply and left the police officer on a brief pursuit.
At some point during the chase, the officer lost sight of the car and the pursuit came to an end.
Not long after, officers found the same car at the Tracy Boulevard intersection at the 205 Freeway. They determined that the vehicle tried exiting Tracy Boulevard but crossed the intersection at a high rate of speed. Subsequently, the vehicle left the roadway and slammed into a tree while trying to hop onto the westbound 205 Freeway on-ramp.
Shortly after, arriving police found four passengers inside the vehicle, deceased upon arrival.
According to statements, Treyvon Breckenridge, Kaya Durazo and Ayana Guardado were three of the four victims in this crash. The fourth victim, described as a former McNair High football player, has yet to be accounted for.
At this time, investigators hope to determine the cause of the accident and the factors that played a role. Anyone with information should contact the department.
We would like to express our sincere sympathies to the families and friends of Treyvon Breckenridge, Kaya Durazo, Ayana Guardado and the fourth victim.
