Ryder Hurt in Olympia DUI Motorcycle Accident on Highway 101
OLYMPIA, WA (September 18, 2020) — A 29-year-old man sustained injuries following Friday’s DUI motorcycle accident on Highway 101 near West Shelton Matlock Road.
According to reports, the incident happened around 4:00 p.m. on the northbound side of the highway.
Washington State Troopers say the 29-year-old operating the motorcycle was traveling at a high rate of speed and weaving in and out of traffic. Subsequently, his bike collided with a northbound Toyota Prius, causing no injuries to the 49-year-old female driver inside.
Following the crash, paramedics arrived and ushered the Olympia man to Mason General Hospital in Shelton.
According to Troopers, he will most likely face possible charges for driving under the influence and reckless driving.
Alcohol and drugs can make drivers feel invincible. If you are under the influence of any mind-altering substance, avoid operating a car or a motorcycle. Doing so will only put you in harm’s way and cause danger to others on the road. Above all, avoid this at all costs.
