Several Cars Collide Due to Wrong-Way Driver in Merced County

 
MERCED COUNTY, CA (September 17, 2020) — A wrong-way driver crashed into several cars Monday afternoon on Highway 99 near Liberty Avenue.
 
According to reports, the accident took place around 4:00 p.m. when authorities received a report of a driver entering Highway 99 from the Winton Parkway off-ramp.
 
Shortly thereafter, authorities received another report about a car that had collided with a big rig near the Liberty Avenue exit.
 
Further reports confirmed that the wrong-way driver collided with a big rig and several other vehicles somehow became involved. As a result of the crash, at least one person needed medical attention.
 
Within the hour, officials were able to clear the scene and traffic resumed by 4:30 p.m.
