Driver Dies in Crash with Semi-Truck on Highway 101 [San Jose, CA]
Car Rear-Ends Semi-Truck in Fatal Crash on Highway 101 near Tully Road in San Jose
SAN JOSE, CA (September 15, 2020) – Police confirmed that a car driver died after a crash with a semi-truck on Highway 101 on early Tuesday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened near Tully Road at approximately 1:15 AM.
Based on a report, the 22-year-old San Jose man was driving northbound on the highway at the time of the crash. Due to an unknown reason, he crashed his 2017 Honda Accord into the back of a semi-truck going at about 55 mph.
As a result, medics pronounced the victim dead at the scene. The semi-truck driver, a 40-year-old Hollister man, was not hurt in the incident.
The cause of the collision is still under investigation. At this point, no other information is immediately available.
