Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Vehicle on 880 Freeway near 7th Street in Oakland

 
OAKLAND, CA (September 14, 2020) – Police confirmed that a vehicle hit a pedestrian in a multi-car crash on 880 Freeway on Monday evening.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened near 7th Street at 7:36 PM.
 
Based on a report, multiple vehicles collided in the lanes. Subsequently, an SUV struck the victim who was running onto the road at the time of the crash.
 
Medics performed CPR on the pedestrian, but the victim died at the scene. Officials did not yet release the victim’s identity. In addition, they did not state other injuries sustained in the incident.
 
Officers closed all lanes on the freeway to give way to clearing and rescue operations.
 
Police did not release additional information regarding the crash. However, they continue to investigate the case.
