One Killed in Fiery Car Accident on 5 Freeway [Arvin, CA]
Speeding Vehicle Involved in Fatal Accident on 5 Freeway at Laval Road in Arvin
ARVIN, CA (September 14, 2020) – Police confirmed that a motorist died in a fiery car accident on northbound 5 Freeway on Monday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at Laval Road just after 7:00 AM.
Based on a report, a Kern County Sheriff’s deputy saw the driver speeding prior to the crash. The deputy tried to pull the vehicle over at Grapevine Road but it drove off. Afterward, when the deputy drove near Laval Road, he saw the same vehicle crashed in the lanes and on fire.
Medics said that impact ejected the driver from the car. As a result, the victim died at the scene. Officials did not yet disclose the victim’s identity pending kin notification.
CHP officers did not release further information. However, they continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
At this point, police don’t have the details that lead to the crash. However, an investigation into the case is ongoing.
