Driver Fatally Strikes Child Riding Bike in Auburn at 30th Street Near M Street
AUBURN, CA (September 15, 2020) — A 4-year-old boy died Monday after being hit by a vehicle in an apartment complex along 30th Street near M Street.
According to Auburn Police, the 3:30 p.m. accident happened in the 1200 block of 30th Street Southeast.
Under unknown circumstances, a 45-year-old woman reversing out of a parking spot struck the boy on his bike.
Just minutes later, paramedics responded and rushed the child to Harborview Medical Center where he died.
Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene and cooperated with the police investigation.
At this time, impairment has been ruled out as a possible factor in the accident; however, police have been interviewing witnesses and family members to determine the liabilities and circumstances.
