ATV Rider Dies in Phoenix Crash
PHOENIX, AZ (September 10, 2020) — A woman died in an ATV crash along the Salt River bottom near South 75th Avenue Sunday night.
According to officials, the 10:30 p.m. crash also left two people injured. Reports say the ATV, carrying three people, rolled over in the river bottom.
Per Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Sgt. Joaquin Enriquez, the ATV rolled over uneven terrain and in a desolate and dark area.
The man operating the ATV, as well as another female passenger, sustained superficial scratches.
According to investigators, neither occupant was wearing a helmet and the woman who died was not strapped in a seatbelt.
Enriquez has also added that alcohol has been ruled out as a possible driver in the accident.
