Nicholas Woods Dead, Charity Swanner Cited Following Motorcycle Accident on Highway 380 Near Hondo
LINCOLN COUNTY, NM (September 10, 2020) — A 49-year-old man died in a motorcycle accident on Highway 380 near the city of Hondo over Labor Day weekend.
According to New Mexico State Police investigators, the crash happened just 30 miles east of Ruidoso.
Corroborating with the evidence from the scene, investigators say an SUV driver traveling eastbound on the highway left the roadway for unknown reasons.
Subsequently, the vehicle—driven by Charity Autumn Swanner of Nogal—veered back onto the road but crossed over the center line and collided head-on with a motorcycle.
Unfortunately, the 49-year-old motorcyclist died at the scene. Reports have identified him as Nicholas E. Woods, of Hobbs.
Following the investigation, police cited Swanner for careless driving.
At this time, reports detailed no additional information surrounding the accident, yet those with information should call the department.
