One Injured, Kolton Matosich Arrested in DUI Crash on Capitola Road at 49th Avenue in Capitola

 
CAPITOLA, CA (September 5, 2020) – Police arrested Kolton Matosich after a DUI crash on Capitola Road on Saturday evening.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at 49th Avenue just before 8:00 PM.
 
Based on a report, the Santa Cruz man was driving a 2009 Hyundai Genesis when he made a left turn in front of the police officer at the intersection. Subsequently, he hit the officer’s departmental motorcycle. Police said Matosich fled the scene after the incident.
 
As a result, the officer sustained minor injuries.
 
A passing motorist followed Matosich and facilitated his return to the scene. Consequently, officials from the California Highway Patrol later arrested him for felony DUI. At this time, an investigation into the case is ongoing.
