CHULA VISTA, CA (September 4, 2020) — A 44-year-old man was injured in Wednesday’s hit-and-run bicycle accident on East J Street near Hilltop Drive.
According to Chula Vista police Agent Brian Carter, the accident happened near Hilltop Middle School.
The unidentified victim suffered injuries to his back and left arm after being hit by the vehicle around 7:15 p.m.
According to an investigation, the driver of the SUV, which authorities believe had to be a 2017 or newer white Honda CRV, struck the cyclist as he tried riding on the right edge of the roadway.
Unfortunately, the driver did not stop and continued eastbound on East J Street, perhaps leaving behind a missing passenger-side mirror.
