Man Fatally Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver in San Jose Pedestrian Crash on Santa Clara Street
SAN JOSE, CA (September 4, 2020) — A hit-and-run driver struck and killed a pedestrian in a crash on Santa Clara Street near Notre Dame Avenue Thursday morning.
Around 6:00 a.m., officers received word of the crash and responded soon after to investigate.
According to their investigation, the pedestrian tried crossing Santa Clara Street, southbound in a marked crosswalk. After that, an eastbound driver struck him.
Unfortunately, the driver left the scene and failed to provide aid or stay for police questioning.
Not long after the driver’s escape, paramedics arrived and transported the victim to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
