One Dead in Car Crash on 215 Freeway Near Box Springs Road [Riverside, CA]
Fatal Riverside Car Crash on 215 Freeway
RIVERSIDE, CA (September 4, 2020) — One person died following Thursday’s multi-car crash on 215 Freeway near Box Springs Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash took place around 12:35 p.m.
Under unclear circumstances, two tractor-trailers and a gold Ford Expedition collided in the carpool and fast lanes on the northbound freeway.
The occupant of the SUV, whose identity demands further examination, died at the scene.
Following the crash, CHP officers closed three of the four lanes and issued a Sigalert, causing a traffic jam for commuters.
However, by 4:30 p.m., all northbound lanes reopened.
