Man Injured in Pedestrian Accident at 45th Street and Imperial Avenue [San Diego, CA]
Pedestrian Hurt in San Diego Crash
SAN DIEGO, CA (September 3, 2020) — A 62-year-old man suffered a serious injury following Tuesday’s pedestrian accident at 45th Street and Imperial Avenue.
According to San Diego Police Officer John Buttle, the incident unfolded around 5:45 p.m. at the intersection.
Investigators believe that a Nissan Rogue SUV attempting a left turn onto 45th Street struck the 62-year-old man walking along the sidewalk of Imperial Avenue.
Further investigations revealed that the pedestrian had entered the intersection against a red light.
Soon after, paramedics arrived and ushered the man to UCSD Medical Center for treatment of an open fracture to his right knee.
Meanwhile, the 53-year-old woman operating the Nissan stayed at the scene, escaped injury and cooperated with police questioning.
