Fatal Collision Involving Big Rig in Riverdale at Kamm Avenue and Jameson Avenue
RIVERDALE, CA (September 1, 2020) — Two people died in a fiery collision with a big rig Monday morning at West Kamm Avenue and South Jameson Avenue.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a driver in a pickup truck reportedly ran a stop sign at the intersection and collided with a westbound semi-truck.
As a result of the impact, the pickup dragged the semi-truck about a hundred feet before it burst into flames, killing its driver and passenger.
As for the big rig driver, he or she escaped harm.
Authorities have not yet determined what drove the 6:30 a.m. accident, such as whether impairment or speed played a role; however, if anyone has more information on this fatal collision, please contact the CHP.
